Bird Watching

Bird Watching is an amazing tour that takes you to the wonderland situated in the Lower region of Nepal called Chitwan. this intensely beautiful tropical land is dominated by a chain of spectacular hills and floodplain areas. The country is divided broadly into three ecological zones: the lowland (Terai), the mid-hills, and the high mountains, each with its characteristic fauna and flora, with the result that Nepal is one of the most biologically diverse countries in the world, with more bird species to the square mile than any other country on earth. This is a birder’s paradise where more than 915 species have been recorded, nearly 10% of the world’s total, and you will see a vast range of bird life on this tour. More than 60% of Nepal’s birds have been found in Chitwan National Park(CNP) and its periphery. The CNP area is one of the best places in the world to observe and study various bird species. Apart from resident species, many migrating birds arrive at CNP in the winter from as far as Siberia as well as other places thousands of miles away.

This holiday tour is designed for the more serious birdwatcher, as we work harder than usual to find some special species which might otherwise be missed. There are many birds to add to our usual target list, giving a total for the holiday of perhaps up to 400/500 species, some of which are hard to find. You can expect fabulous birding in Royal Tiger Luxury Resort with an experienced local guide, widely regarded as one of the best birders in the country.
